What is pelvic floor physical therapy?
Pelvic floor physical therapy is a specialized form of therapy that helps women strengthen, release, and restore the muscles of the pelvic floor to improve core function, reduce pain, and support bladder, bowel, and sexual health. It combines hands-on techniques, tailored exercises, breathwork, and education to address issues like pelvic pain, incontinence, diastasis recti, and postpartum recovery. This integrative approach helps you reconnect to your body, feel more supported through pregnancy and postpartum, and improve your overall well-being.

How long is each visit?
Each physical therapy visit is 55 minutes, giving you dedicated, one-on-one time for a thorough assessment, hands-on treatment, personalized exercises, and education. This extended session length ensures you receive holistic, high-quality care tailored to your pregnancy, postpartum, or pelvic health needs.

What can I expect at my first visit (PT Evaluation)?
At your first pelvic floor physical therapy visit, you can expect a thorough, whole-body evaluation tailored to your goals and concerns. We’ll review your health history, birth or pregnancy background, daily habits, and symptoms. We will assess posture, breathing, core and pelvic floor function, movement patterns, and—if appropriate for your condition and with your consent—an external or internal pelvic floor exam. From there, you’ll receive a clear plan of care, hands-on treatment, and personalized exercises to support your healing. Our goal is to help you feel informed, comfortable, and supported from day one.
-
How often will I be coming in?
Most clients come in once a week to start, and then transition to biweekly or monthly sessions as they progress. Your frequency is always personalized based on your symptoms, goals, and how your body responds to treatment. Our focus is to help you feel better efficiently while giving you the tools to continue healing at home.

Do you do virtual or home visits?
Yes — We offer virtual sessions and home visits in CT + NY for prenatal and postpartum clients who prefer support from the comfort of their home or who are unable to come into the clinic due to physical limitations, mobility challenges, or postpartum recovery needs . Virtual pelvic floor and wellness sessions are great for education, movement, birth prep, and postpartum recovery. Home visits are available locally and allow for hands-on treatment without needing to travel. Both options provide the same high-quality, individualized care tailored to your needs.
We currently offer home visits to Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, New Canaan, Rowayton, and Norwalk. Travel fee applies.
